Celebrate Diwali by sharing and giving

Chinmaya Mission New York

Dear all,

The New York Chapter of Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development a 501C(3) organization is doing the annual fundraiser run/walk on Saturday 22nd October 2016 at 555 12th Ave New York, New York 10036.
CORD is a non-profit that focuses on empowering the poor villages in the Indian sub-continent through education, skills training and other programs. This year we are raising money for the war widows in Sri Lanka. The civil war has left over 100,000 war widows and 1000's of orphans and CORD Sri Lanka is actively working on value education programs for the orphans and income generation programs for the women.

Our New York volunteer recently visited the CORD center in the tribal areas of the Himalayas to see in person the efforts and progress and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Check out her blog for all the details.
With warm regards,
NY Chapter for CORD

"Success is the tribute life pays to Excellence" – Swami Chinmayananda
We are excited and honored to have Swamiji conduct a session on Excellence in Success. The session is open to all and will be followed by Q&A and Prasadam.

About Swamiji:
Inspired by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, Swami Sarveshananda joined the Vedanta Course at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya in Mumbai in 1993. After completing the course in 1995, he was initiated as a Brahmachari and posted as the Resident Acharya of Chinmaya Mission, Vijayawada where he served until June, 2002. Thereafter, he was appointed as the Resident Acharya of Chinmaya Mission in Dallas, Texas, by Pujya Guruji, Swami Tejomayananda.
Swami Sarveshananda is also the National Director of Chinmaya Mission Yuva Kendra (CHYK) West, the youth wing of Chinmaya Mission West. CHYK West manages CHYK chapters all across North America including West Indies. CHYK West aims to increase spiritual awareness among youth and young adults (18 - 35 years) so that they live life purposefully - with a clear and noble personal vision and an attitude of service to the community. Swami Sarveshananda was himself a CHYK while growing up in India, and received direct guidance from Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinmayananda. A dynamic and engaging speaker, Swami Sarveshananda works tirelessly to spread the wisdom of Vedanta through retreats, workshops, camps and innovative youth programs that inspire young people. Swami Sarveshananda has touched many lives through his service, dedication and loving presence. He is popular with children and youth because of his ability to connect with young minds.
